Famous Works of Classical Music Cleared for All Broadcast Platforms

Audio Network, the UK’s fastest growing production music catalogue, announced today the launch of the Borradaile Classical Collection – one of the most extensive and comprehensive classical collections ever to be made available to producers. Available immediately for download from their website www.audiolicense.net, the Borradaile Collection has 40 hours of music including almost all the major works of the principal composers from the 17th Century onwards.

It includes music from the early Baroque years of Bach, Vivaldi and Handel; the Classical period of Haydn, Beethoven and Mozart; the Romantic era of Strauss, Wagner and Tchaikovsky; through to the 20th Century sounds of Elgar, Holst and Fauré.

The Borradaile Collection is available to producers via Audio Network’s unique licensing plan, which covers use on any media platform, anywhere in the world and in perpetuity. The Collection is uniquely easy and inexpensive to use while retaining the quality of the recordings which are performed by top-class soloists, orchestras and choirs from around the world. The company plans to add hundreds of new works every year.

The announcement means that producers will no longer have to suffer the complicated and expensive licensing methods of traditional catalogues which often demand extra fees when their music is used in productions aired abroad or on new media platforms such as online or mobile. Audio Network is making its classical catalogue available on the same terms as its production music catalogue which has proved so popular with producers and editors. From single track download price of £95 per track to a full annual subscription, producers can use as many tracks as they want safe in the knowledge everything is cleared forever.

Andrew Sunnucks, co-founder and MD of Audio Network, says, “There are times when only the real thing will do for producers. The great classical works have powerful associations which resonate with audiences. We are thrilled to be able to bring this repertoire to producers without the usual cost and hassle.”

Audio Network was launched in 2001 and has been enjoying increasing success ever since. The rise in popularity of online and mobile broadcasting as well as the 2004 terms of trade has made the company’s unique model increasingly relevant to independent production companies who retain the post-commission rights to their programmes and sell them to overseas broadcasters.

In addition to the Borradaile Collection, Audio Network has over 11,000 originally-composed tracks and 50,000 award-winning sound effects. With over 140 composers on their books, Audio Network also offers bespoke tracks, such as their recent commission to write and perform the title track music for the BBC programme Animal: 24/7.
