Hollywood sound designers &
Audio Network launch new sound service
SoundStorm, Inc and Audio Network Plc today announced the launch
of a new company to provide high quality sound services to the
European film and advertising industries.
The LA based SoundStorm team has received no fewer than seven
OSCAR nominations along with two BAFTAs, one Golden Reel award
and a 2002 Emmy Award for outstanding sound editing.
The new UK based company (Audio Network Projects Limited) will
have access to the talented sound editorial team and supervisory
resources of Hollywood’s premier independent audio post-production
company.
Audio Network Plc represents sixty leading European based composers
to the international film and television community. As part
of the deal SoundStorm are also promoting Audio Network’s
British composers to Hollywood film producers.
SoundStorm first made a strategic investment in Audio Network
Plc last year when Audio Network acquired the exclusive global
exploitation rights to the prestigious SoundStorm sound archives
which had historically only been available to the SoundStorm
in-house editorial teams.
Audio Network Plc won the Dti beyond bricks New Business of
the Year Award 2002, the European Seal of Excellence Award 2003
and a 2003 SMART award for its revolutionary music and sound
effects library service which eliminates the costs and hassles
of licensing audio content for global use by international production
companies without compromising on quality. Their award winning
music and sounds can be previewed at www.audiolicense.net.
Aaron Green, Chief Operating Officer at SoundStorm said “We
had been exploring ways of entering the European market for
a number of years but could never justify the investment associated
with operating a full time European facility. The partnership
with Audio Network gives us access to a UK infrastructure and
allows us to send experienced Hollywood based sound supervisors
with EEC passports back to the Europe at short notice to work
alongside European based editors.”
Robert Hurst, Managing Director of Audio Network commented
“In the same way we benefit from the additional exposure
that the alliance with SoundStorm gives our composers to the
Hollywood film community.”
Andrew Sunnucks, Creative Director, added “As the traditional
boundaries between sound design and music composition are becoming
increasingly blurred the opportunity exists for some exciting
international collaborations between our team of composers and
SoundStorm’s sound designers”
