Audio Network launches a revolutionary new music serviceAudio Network today announced the launch of a new service which eliminates all the problems and restrictions normally associated with licensing music for film and television productions. Audio Network was formed last year by two Directors from world famous music publisher, Boosey & Hawkes and the OSCAR/BAFTA winning sound editorial house, Soundstorm. The new service dramatically reduces costs for the end user. The music catalogue is being made available for a single annual subscription of just £500 for up to six productions. Producers can then use as much material as they like and all the music is automatically cleared for synchronisation use, without restriction. Unlike most 'buy-out' music, Audio Network claims not to have compromised with either the composition or recording quality. The service has initially been produced for the feature film industry where production values have to be extremely high. Audio Network has recorded a large new catalogue of material using some of the biggest names in the music world. The catalogue already features over 100 orchestral and large ensemble recordings as well as some 400 additional recordings covering the whole gamut of styles from Trance to Tango and sound design to solo instruments. Andrew Sunnucks, Creative Director says: "Almost all of the tracks have a large number of versions and mixes available. With most of the orchestral material we also recorded a variety of orchestrations and arrangements so that editors can create a sense of continuity through productions." Uniquely, Audio Network provides a detailed categorisation of their recordings, even providing detail on keys and tempo. Sunnucks explains: "There are many editors who are extremely musically literate. This information gives them the tools to cut between tracks in a musically sensitive way and will also make replacing temp tracks and matching cuts to music tempos significantly easier."
